•    Evan Washburn and Lauren Shehadi serving as game reporters through the Regional Finals.

Greg Gumbel will host studio coverage from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York, joined by Charles Barkley, Clark Kellogg and Kenny Smith as well as Wally Szczerbiak. Ernie Johnson will host studio coverage from WBD Studios in Atlanta alongside Jay Wright, Candace Parker and Seth Davis. Additionally, Adam Zucker and Adam Lefkoe will also serve as hosts from New York and Atlanta, respectively.

Gene Steratore will serve as rules analyst throughout the Tournament and will be on-site in Houston for the Final Four.

Zucker will provide game updates from New York, while Nabil Karim will provide updates from Atlanta.

For the first time in two years, we can finally proclaim: Let the March Madness begin!

March 14 was Selection Sunday as 68 teams, their seedings and regions were announced for the upcoming annual tournament to ultimately determine the men’s Division I college basketball national champion.

A total of 67 tournament games will be televised on four different networks.

CBS will broadcast 24 games throughout the tournament including the National Championship, Final Four Semifinals, the first two Elite 8® games and four Sweet 16® games as well as first and second round games.

TBS will televise 20 contests including the First Four™ , Elite 8®, Sweet 16® and first and second round games.

TNT will televise 12 games including first and second round match-ups.

truTV will air a total of 11 games, including the First Four™ and the first and second rounds.

Games, with up to 25 percent capacity, will be played in six different venues at or near Indianapolis, Ind.: Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Lucas Oil Stadium, Mackey Arena and Assembly Hall. Only the latter two are not located within Indianapolis, but neither further than 70 miles out of the city — Mackey Arena is the home of Purdue University in West Lafayette and Assembly Hall for Indiana University in Bloomington.

It is the tenth year that CBS and Turner Sports will jointly broadcast the men’s NCAA basketball tournament since 2011, in the midst of a multi-year partnership deal thru 2032.

Not every team gets invited to the “Big Dance.” For the teams that almost made it to the Final 68 on Selection Sunday, there is the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

A total of 32 teams comprise the NIT. The first four teams left out of the 2019 NCAA tournament field will be the top-seeded teams in the 2019 NIT. They were UNC Greensboro, Alabama, TCU and Indiana.

Like last year, the NIT this year features experimental rules including an extended 3-point line and widened lane area. But for this year, the NIT will also showcase new rules for the shot clock and team fouls per half.

31 games will be played in this 82nd annual edition of the tournament from March 19-April 4. The NIT Semifinals (Apr. 2) and Final (Apr. 4) will be held at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. All of these tournament games will be televised on the ESPN family of networks: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPNU. The NIT will be available through ESPN’s digital platform WatchESPN, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

Let the March Madness of 2019 begin!

March 17 was Selection Sunday as 68 teams, their seedings and regions were announced for the upcoming annual tournament to ultimately determine the men’s Division I college basketball national champion.

67 tournament games will be televised on four different networks.

CBS will broadcast 24 games throughout the tournament including the National Championship, Final Four Semifinals, Elite 8®, Sweet 16® and first and second round games.

TBS will televise 18 contests including the Elite 8®, Sweet 16® and first and second round games.

truTV will air a total of 13 games, including the First Four™ and the first and second rounds.

TNT will televise 12 games including first and second round match-ups.

New commentator roles for this year’s coverage will include:
* Jim Jackson calling games in Rounds 1 and 2 alongside Brad Nessler, Steve Lavin and Evan Washburn. Jackson will also team with Spero Dedes, Steve Smith and Ros Gold-Onwude for the First Four;
* Rules Analyst Gene Steratore providing rules and officiating analysis in studio from the First Four through the Regional Finals and on-site at the Final Four in Minneapolis.

Ernie Johnson and Greg Gumbel will again host studio coverage from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City during the first full week of the tournament, joined by Charles Barkley, Clark Kellogg and Kenny Smith.  Johnson will host studio coverage from Atlanta during the second week of tournament action on Thursday and Friday, while Gumbel will anchor coverage from CBS Studios. Studio coverage originating from Turner Studios in Atlanta, hosted by Casey Stern during the first week, will feature Brendan Haywood, Seth Davis, Candace Parker and college coaches. Wally Szczerbiak will contribute to studio coverage from New York City and Adam Zucker will provide game updates.

It is the ninth consecutive year that CBS and Turner Sports will jointly broadcast the men’s NCAA basketball tournament, in the midst of a multi-year partnership deal thru 2032.

On the digital side, “NCAA March Madness Live” will bring each and every tournament game online on their website and via their official app, available on mobile devices and consoles like Roku and Apple TV.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs remained at No. 1 after extending the nation’s longest winning streak to 20 games. Virginia stayed at No. 2 after winning both its games last week.

North Carolina and Tennessee both moved up two spots, to Nos. 3 and 5. Duke fell one spot to No. 4.

No. 15 Virginia Tech had the biggest climb, moving up five places after knocking off Duke in its only game last week.

Central Florida, at No. 25, is ranked for the first time since the 2010-11 team reached No. 19 during a four-week stint in the AP Top 25. They handed No. 12 Houston its second loss of the season on Mar. 2 while ending the nation’s longest home winning streak at 33 games.
