The networks of ESPN will provide complete coverage of the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship beginning with regional action (March 29-31) and concluding with the Frozen Four in Buffalo, N.Y. (April 11 & 13).

The Championship field was announced exclusively on ESPNU on Sunday, March 24. St. Cloud State is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament and headlining the West, with No. 2 Minnesota Duluth in the Midwest, No. 3 Minnesota State in East and No. 4 Massachusetts in Northeast. Each will be the top seed in their regionals. The complete bracket includes Arizona State, who qualified for the first time in their program’s brief history.

The networks of ESPN will televise the entire NCAA Men’s Division I Ice Hockey Championship tournament live for its thirteenth consecutive year in 2017.

Twelve regional games will be played from March 24-26.

The University of Denver was the No. 1 overall seed. The other No. 1 seeds, in order, include the University of Minnesota Duluth, Harvard University and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Both Frozen Four semifinal matchups will air on ESPN2 Thursday, Apr. 6 and the National Championship will air on ESPN on the evening of Saturday, Apr. 8. Games in April will be played at the United Center in Chicago, Ill.

ESPN has televised every Frozen Four Championship Game since 1980 and televised the entire Frozen Four, live, since 1995.

Every game of the 2017 Men’s Division I Ice Hockey Championship is also available on WatchESPN.

The networks of ESPN will televise the entire NCAA Men’s Division I Ice Hockey Championship tournament live for its twelfth consecutive year in 2016.

Twelve regional games will be played from March 25-27. Ten of those games will air on either ESPN2 or ESPNU; the remaining two will be streamed online on the ESPN3 service.

Both Frozen Four semifinal matchups will air on ESPN2 Thursday, Apr. 7 and the National Championship will air on ESPN on the evening of Saturday, Apr. 9. Games in April will be played at the Amelie Arena in Tampa, Fla. Additionally, ESPN3 will offer ESPN3 Surround for all three games, which will feature alternate camera angles and natural sound. 

ESPN has televised every Frozen Four Championship Game since 1980 and televised the entire Frozen Four, live, since 1995.

Every game of the 2016 Men’s Division I Ice Hockey Championship is also available on WatchESPN.

ESPN’s lead hockey play-by-play commentator John Buccigross teams up with lead hockey analyst Barry Melrose to call the action in the Northeast Regional (Worcester, Mass.) and, for the fourth consecutive year, the Frozen Four. Quint Kessenich will, once again, be the reporter with Buccigross and Melrose at both the Northeast Regional and Frozen Four.

Victoria Arlen will also be a part of the Frozen Four coverage, focusing on the untold stories of the participating teams and players off the ice.

Buccigross, the popular SportsCenter anchor, has developed a passionate following on Twitter (@Buccigross) through consistent college hockey dialogue with fans (#cawlidgehawkey) and by showcasing hockey throughout the country.

Melrose, who has been with ESPN 19 of the last 20 years and has been an analyst for several Frozen Fours, played 11 seasons in the NHL before leading the Los Angeles Kings to the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals as head coach.

Other ESPN broadcast tandems: Allen Bestwick and Colby Cohen (Midwest Regional), Clay Matvick and Sean Ritchlin (West Regional) and Kevin Brown and Billy Jaffe (East Regional). Both Jaffe and Ritchlin played at Michigan and Cohen played for Boston University, where he scored the game-winning goal in the 2009 National Championship Game.
